Not on your own computer. Will log you in on your browser and away you go. You might want to enter your own name in the nick box, but there is no installation so can be used on most computers. Click and see if it works. [click] (technical note: need to have Java working correctly and port 6667 outbound open - just try it if you don't know what this means!) |
Not on your own computer (more compatible). Will log you in on your browser and away you go. There is no installation so can be used on most computers - but only use this if option one doesn't work. This will work even if you have a firewall or Java doesn't work on your system. [not yet ready] |
On your own computer, and use Instant Messenger clients too. This is a guide on how to setup the free "Trillian" client. This is a free application that will allow you to use Yahoo, ICQ, MSN Messenger, and AOL's Messenger as well as educationet's chat service and other IRC channels - all from the same program. [click] (this is the easiest way to use educationet chat if you wish to be a regular user) |
Use any other IRC client. If you already know what IRC is, the server is irc.coldfront.net, the port is the usual 6667 and the channel is #educationet. Go load up mIRC or GrapeVine or something. |
