That would be me. I agree with those saying that free education is not some mad idea which we cannot even think to ask for.
Thats not the labour student line, though, and they are going to take a line of compromise that they can make by working with the labour left. Since conference elected Labour Students, and voted for their policy, thats the policy thats going to be taken forward.
The other parties can get involved in what is basically a labour-run group (with some trot influences), run a compromise line pandering to an unpopular government or can just campaign for free education with a party hat on. Which would you do?
Many individuals will get involved, of course, but they have no reason to organise an intervention like Labour and the trots, since they can't beat Labour Students (who the trots would probably align with above them) anyway, and they don't share the trots methods that make it a good deal for them even if the lose. Putting aside the rubbishness of the above parties youth wings, only the greens are really gonna get much out of a block part timer, from the perspective of the organisation.
