"Deeply unpolitical"? Surely you are talking about the SWP here. And you have not raised one *political* criticism of the CPGB. It is all, "you are small," "you focus on the left" etc.

We focus on the left because the left itself is deeply ???ed. The far left as it is today is all over the place politically and in terminal decline. The fact that you - and almost everyone else on the left - is in chronic denial of this fact does not change it. You stubbornly refuse to account for the lefts failures or learn any lessons from them. This was recently highlighted by the fact that (aside from the fact that you avoid debating us) the SWP did its damnedest to avoid discussion of the Respect project at its 'Marxism' festival. There was not a single session on the Respect debacle. So much for 'Marxism' being a "festival of ideas"!

However, the left is certainly not our only focus - just the one that you cannot stomach. Our members our involved in many other struggles and campaigns. It was a member of one of these campaigns - Hands Off the People of Iran - and not the CPGB itself, that we invited leading SWP member Alex Callinicos to debate at this year's 'Marxism' Fringe. Torab Saleth, a participant in the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and former member of the International Secretariat of USec (the Fourth International), is someone that Alex Callinicos has actually debated before. But now he dare not. The SWP's position on Iran has shifted so far from anything that could be considered Marxist that, as Callinicos's silence shows, it is indefencible.
