As an Australian I take issue with that. If the Britain people or Government tried medling in Australian affairs there would be a very strong and very angry backlash.
Britain did as much harm in Australia when they declaired it "terra nullius". It was and has been left to the Australians to sort out the mess Britain created. After all, having created the mess why should Britain now come and make a further hash of it?
Britain does not have a very good track record. I doubt you've improved much when it comes to messing with other people's affairs. Remember that time people thought they were doing the right thing too!
