Welcome to educationet. The idea of this site is to provide spin-free news and campaigning information. We thought it was amazing that with the number of sites run for students they all seemed to be interested in finding you a music shop or curry house. The attitude has been

"Why bother telling students what's going on? Its' not as if the lazy pissed-up spongers care about anything besides drugs, beer and supermarket sweep, besides we can't make money in giving them news, and as for campaigning, forget it!"

Well we don't agree. The biggest cause for concern that we have seen over the last few years has been the total lack of information which has been provided by 'organisations' like NUS, and their complete lack of ambition to further the cause of students. When it comes to Union leaders' ambition to further their own political career, its' been a different matter altogether.

We have decided that there is no other course of action left open. We have to do it ourselves. This is where we (that's us and YOU) take over. So if you want to join with us in a fight against forces more evil and sinister than Skeletor, then get in touch with us about becoming a reporter, or have a look at the information available to help you start campaigning. educationet will also be here just to inform you of what is going on in students issues- after all it's not too much to ask. Through the messageboard, we hope to provide students and union officers with a facility to come together to work togther.

Students in Indonesia overthrew their Government- In China they were slaughtered because they had the audacity to protest for human rights. Here? Well not a great deal since 1969 even though students have been subject to cuts from every Government in the last twenty years. But now, with Government control of NUS, UK students are doing the best impression of an inoffensive doormat ever seen.
